Five more UK mortgage lenders have announced mortgage rate cuts. But experts warn that mortgage rates will not continue to fall for the long term. HSBC, Santander, TSB, NatWest and Principality Building Society are cutting mortgage rates from today. The cuts are part of a competition between lenders.

HSBC has cut rates on mortgages for both homebuyers and renters. This is the second time in the past two weeks that they have cut rates. The bank will only announce today how much the reduction will be. Meanwhile, Santander is cutting residential fixed rates for the second time this month. This time, the reduction will be up to 0.14 percent.

TSB has announced a reduction of 0.15 percent for homebuyers, renters and remortgages. Principality Building Society has announced a reduction of 0.13 per cent. NatWest is looking to bring in some buy-to-let mortgage deals at lower rates.
