Dozens of flood alerts in place across parts of the UK

The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for rain across the UK. Dozens of flood alerts have been issued. The Met has issued a life-threatening weather warning for South Wales following heavy rain on Sunday.

An amber weather warning will be in place for South Wales from Monday
morning . The heavy rain will continue until Tuesday morning, the notice says. A yellow warning for rain has been issued for South West and North West England. There is also a rain warning for Central and Northern Wales.

The Environment Agency has issued 35 flood alerts for various rivers in England. Natural Resources Wales has also issued 10 alerts. There has been a yellow warning for rain in the eastern parts of England since Saturday. The rain fell in the East Midlands, North East England, Yorkshire and the Humber.
