Patients often come to A&E for urgent needs. But getting admission to the hospital from here is difficult. The number of people leaving A&E without receiving any treatment has tripled in the past six years, new figures show.
The number of patients leaving emergency departments without receiving treatment has increased at a time when demand for urgent hospital treatment is rising and waiting times are rising, according to an examination of NHS figures by the Royal College of Nursing.
More than This is a three-fold increase compared to the figures for 2019. Most people left A&E because they were tired of waiting.
The RCN figures also found a 90-fold increase in the number of patients waiting more than 12 hours.
